Clearly everyone has their own views and opinions on just about any subject and Religion and Politics can cause heated debate but when the political system is on a path of utter failure it seems to me at least that we should all be discussing the state of politics and better yet the influence of religion on our political system and legal system.
In just the last year we have seen how religion and politics have become a volatile mixture that has been used to attack things like Women’s rights and even protect ugly things like protesting funerals (Westerboro Baptist Church) with inflammatory signs and hate speech.
Conservative Politicians lately have stepped up their push to bring religion into politics more now than in years past and with the advent of the Tea Party they are also making use of adulterated views on historical events and the constitution to try to almost brainwash the republican voters.
While our economy is struggling congress is having argument after argument and doing much political grandstanding with little benefit and much harm to the growing concerns of voters.
Personally I think its time friends, family and strangers come together and discuss these topics that way when 2012 rolls around the voters have a good idea of how best to use their vote.
The United States really cannot use anymore of this non-action by congress and needs an elected congress that represents the people and not special interests and lobbyists.
