Here’s To The Multiarch
Yesterday a group of Debian/Ubuntu Developers and Users got together at PuppetLabs for the first ever combined Ubuntu Local Jam & Debian Bug Squashing Party in Portland, Oregon. Participants spent the entire day learning about packaging, multiarch implementation and SRU verification and putting their skills to the test to try to get as much contributions in before the end of the event.
In attendance and leading talks were Steve Langasek of the Ubuntu Foundations Team and Brian Murray, Bug Master for Ubuntu who covered varying areas of participation at the event.
The contributors at the event were able to complete approximately 16 conversions to multiarch and a few SRU Verification’s were also completed during the event. There is already talks of another joint Debian/Ubuntu event in the spring and further collaboration between Ubuntu Oregon LoCo and Debian Developers in the Portland Area.
Special Thanks to Jose Palafox and all the folks at PuppetLabs who continue to support the FOSS Community in Portland and for those who could not attend feel free to checkout some video from the event here.
