Wouldn’t it be cool if Mozilla had a Firefox Van or even a Bus that could travel the U.S. and maybe Europe to various Open Source and Tech events to demo Firefox on the Desktop and Android?

I pitched this very idea to Mozilla Marketing and I think it would be a great way to continue to grow the Mozilla Community by having a mobile internet café of sorts that could put Firefox for Desktop and Android right in the hands of users and give an opportunity for vendors to show off their fancy new mobile devices.

Have you seen this vehicle, which sometimes parks near the Mozilla offices in Mountain View: https://plus.google.com/u/0/115480450168703320714/posts/eDsQm4nMA8Q

    No idea whose it is.

From the rear view it is not obvious to non-Firefox users, especially non-techies, what Firefox is. When the van is being driven around it should be clear what it is all about.

How about adding something like “The better browser” to the back and side?

Benjamin- we did that in Japan a few years back with a community member who regularly competes in car shows.

The problem is that the actual number of people who see the van is fairly limited. It’s also impossible to measure how many people saw it or what they thought, or if the car marketing led to downloads, etc.

That’s why most of the vehicle marketing that you see today is by big national brands who are just doing brand marketing. While it’s a cool idea, I’m not sure if it’s appropriate for Mozilla or Firefox marketing.
