This week I’m at OpenStack Summit 2013 in Portland, OR attending as an Active Technical Contributor and to talk to folks about deploying OpenStack with Juju or any of the 133 other services available in the Juju Charm Store. This year’s event has been very worthwhile for me so far with great presentations from a great line up of people. One of my favorite sessions so far this week was “Expanding the community reach through user groups and universities” which was a session led by Kyle Mestery of Cisco Systems. Additionally, Red Hat had a good talk on putting the “PaaS on OpenStack”.
Today was finished with a great Cuban-themed evening cocktail event put on by the folks at HP, and although I won’t be attending, the folks at PuppetLabs are also throwing a party at their new space. Jorge Castro and myself were able to sit down with Stephen Spector and Rafael Knuth of Dell to talk about Juju and Sputnik this afternoon and that interview was really fun.
In closing, I wanted to mention some really good news for folks using Juju who also use Firefox which is the new firefox-sync charm (Mozilla Devops should have a look), now available in the Juju Charm Store thanks to the work of contributor Ben Howard.
