Mozilla joined RumbleFish, Spotify, Twilio and Mapquest to sponsor MFNW+PDX‘s Music Hack Day yesterday and when I heard about the event last week I jumped at the opportunity to join Dietrich Ayala to represent Mozilla at the event. I headed down early for a “Secret Brunch” on the Spotify bus (built by the people who do “MTV Pimp My Ride”) because I knew I was going to need plenty of sustenance to survive a day of hacking and music.

Dietrich gave a brief but excellent intro to what Mozilla is doing with Mobile and as a result at least two of the demos at the end of the day mixed “Boot to Gecko” into their presentation. I was able to talk to a number of attendees about how they can get involved with Boot to Gecko and gave them information on that and other initiatives in our community.

All in all the event was a good turnout and we got lots of Mozilla/Firefox and WebFWD swag out to attendees and I think the event definately left attendees considering how they can get involved in the Mozilla Community especially in bring their skills to the table to create apps for B2G and even add-ons for Firefox.
Until next time….
